In a first-of-its-kind ruling in India, a consumer court in Chhattisgarh has ruled in favor of a car owner who claimed his vehicle developed engine problems after using E20 petrol. The owner reported poor performance following refueling and took the matter to court. The Raipur Consumer Commission directed the vehicle manufacturer and dealer to reimburse the repair expenses and pay compensation. The decision could become an important reference for future consumer complaints involving E20 fuel and vehicle compatibility.
